ABOUT VORC

The Victorian Off-Road Motorcycle Championships encompasses approximately 12 rounds of racing held throughout the year, spanning various venues across Victoria. The distinguished series commands a substantial and dedicated following, not only within Victoria but also drawing riders from interstate due to its proximity to border areas. Each day of competition features distinct racing styles, ranging from sprints to cross country. Our events cater to a wide range of competitive categories, from Juniors to Masters, with a key focus on growing our woman’s classes, consistently attracting some of Australia's most accomplished riders. Each weekend spans across both days of racing, constituting each day as a round, which total to our Championship points.
RACE FORMATS
SPRINT
Sprint is an off-road, natural terrain event consisting of a number of heats of a short course (approx between 9-12 minutes). Each heat is set along the lines of an Enduro Special Test. The rider in each class with the least total elapsed time will be declared the winner of the class. They will race this track over the course of a day as many times as possible. Riders will race against the clock and start 15-30 seconds apart.
CROSS COUNTRY
Cross Country is an off-road, natural terrain, continuous multi-lap event with each lap being above 10kms in length. The intended lap time is usually greater than 15 minutes approximately. The rider in each class completing the most laps in the least elapsed time will be declared the winner of the class. Seniors will race for a maximum of three hours, with juniors a maximum of two hours. It starts with riders lined up in a single row, one row at a time by seeding/class, and has a minimum of one minute between rows starting.
ENDURO
Enduro is an extended cross-country, with sprints/special tests inside of it. It is a time-card event whereby a number of stages are raced in a time trial against the clock, which require competitors to maintain a prescribed kilometre per hour average over varying terrain. Competitors are moderated by a series of secret time keeping checkpoints along the race course and are penalized based on their arrival time to the checkpoints. The rider in each class with the least total elapsed time will be declared the winner of the class.
45 MINUTE MOTO'S
Designed to display high energy and intense racing, 45 minute moto's are a race format that can best be described as a a mix between motocross and a short cross country race. Riders take off in a grid matched with their class competitors and complete 45mins worth of laps on a closed course. Laps are often approximately 10mins and the race is declared when the lead rider reaches the finish line, give or take (around 45mins). Racers will complete 2 or more 45min moto's to declare a round of racing.
